SD Keppler & Associates, LLC, (SDK), located in Rockville, Maryland and,formed in 2002, has guided and supported nine buildings certified under LEED, including New Construction, Existing Buildings and Commercial Interiors and is currently involved in 12 projects tracking towards LEED certification by the USGBC. SDK provides environmental and energy consulting and building commissioning (Cx) professional services related to the sustainable green building design and energy performance of buildings to owners, developers, and design and construction teams.

Our professional practice structure and technical approach to green building and sustainable design consulting is based on our leaderships 25 years of experience as an energy and environmental professional working with architectural, engineering, and consulting firms, energy service companies, HVAC industry groups, and environmental non profits as well as our direct program experience at the USGBC and EPA on both the LEED Rating System development and several EnergyStar programs.

Our experience with these services on our LEED certified projects has demonstrated that having a single entity be responsible for the entire LEED process as well as commissioning brings value to the costs associated with the parallel tasks, supports the potential for a very successful and streamlined effort towards LEED goals, and that close proximity to the site and owner is a critical success factor.
